Summer time

Summer time is in full swing and Hadley and I have been making trying to make the most of it everyday by trying to do something cool and fun, at least for part of the day. We have our 7 peaks passes that we have been taking advantage of and have been 4 or 5 times already, then we hit the local park scenes, art city parade, and today we ventured to Spanish Fork pool.  I'm a big fan of some kind of trip during the day but most days our neighborhood is where the party is at.  Slipin sliding and running through the sprinklers with the neighbor kiddos is lots more fun than going anywhere sometimes.  Hadley would rather play with all the kids that live around us than hang out with just mom so usually around 10 or 11 she is telling me "mom lets go find some kids".  Which is a little sad for me that I am not cool enough for her these days but luckily we do live by alot of fun kids just around her age and I just happen to really like their mom's as well so I can fill the void and we both get to hang out with our friends so its still a win win situation.

We just got back from our Troyer side family vacation in Bear Lake and I am pretty bummed I didn't take ANY pictures....And it was a really fun time and we even had a little joint birthday party where I made Hadley and Austin birthday cakes and they both blew out the candles together and I was too busy lighting the candles that I didn't take any pictures!!! What kind of mom am I....seriously.  Its the same thing with blogging,  I need to do better and recording my families history.  I know.  But it was good to get some Troyer family bonding and relax and hang out and even just having Austin off of work and around all day was really awesome.  Hadley also really enjoyed that part too and told me over and over again all vacation she wanted "my daddy to do it" for almost everything we did....giving baths, getting dressed, taking naps, helping her eat dinner etc. Good thing Austin is a dad who likes to be involved in that kind of stuff.  I honestly think he was pretty flattered every time she wanted dad over mom. It's a good thing Austin is so cool and deserving because its not so bad that I am being replaced by him as Hadley's new favorite. But yes, Hadley is clearly a Daddy's girl and wakes up every morning since bear lake and says "mom where did my daddy go?"  And lately Austin has to put her to bed every night because Hadley won't have it any other way.

I have some recent pictures of hadley's birthday party of stuff...

Hadley's Birhday

Three more days until Miss Hadley turns 2!  We can hardley believe it, but we are definitely feeling the change of her entrance into her terrible twos.  Hadley is a very good natured, socially advanced kid for her age but my sweet little girl does like to assert her will and sometimes will no longer negotiate with mom and dad.  It used to be that we would explain why she couldn't have ice cream in the middle of the day or why she had to wear shoes outside and she will summit easily...we are now entering into this new stage where she wants what she wants regardless of mom and dad's logic.  It hasn't gotten out of hand yet but there is definitely a noticable difference.

All Hadley wants for her birthday is a pink princess cake and a new bike so that is what she will be getting this Thursday.  And probably we are going to make a go for her first kid movie in a while because we think that she can possibly sit through half at least.  So we are planning on Kung Fu Panda 2 since she was a fan of the first one.  So Thursday will be Hadley's birthday and my very last day of school!!!  So I am really excited for Thursday for multiple reasons.  This will be my first summer not coaching since I started teaching 6 years ago so I am excited about all the possibilities of taking Hadley to 7 peaks all the time, and basically being spontaneuos with going on boating trips and weekends to St. George because we will have no obligations that I will need to cordinate my summer schedule with camps and open gyms with volleyball.

So I haven't posted in my once a month goal like I planned...so I will be trying again to do better this summer.  Maybe with all my free time I will have more fun stories and things to write about because I plan on living it up.

I just love this little face

Our awesome spring Utah weather, Austin and hadley decided to make the best of it and build a snowman

Austin's birthday dinner at Spagetti factory,  He is now 27 years old and it must have been a luck day because were lucky enough to get to sit inside the trolley!!!

Shake it like a polaroid picture...

So since Hadley first started to walk she has been a big fan of dancing.  As soon as she is old enough I will definitely be putting her in a dance class for little girls.  In the mean time we jam out at home to whatever is on the radio, or we replay her favorite song "Baby" by Justin Bieber that she even sings along too and dances around at the same time and is a crack up to watch.  It was an easy song to learn considering the words are basically baby, baby over and over...but regardless she LOVES it and I don't think it will ever get old, her performing and me watching her.

But the best part about Hadley dancing is that whenever she is in the mood to do some dancing she comes up to me and says "Mom I want to shake it"....I think that Austin taught her how to say that because it wasn't me.  I think it all started with her dancing to that black eyed peas song Hey-ya that says "shake it" over and over again and then the rest is history.  But I have to admit that I really like it.   Its even better when she comes up to my friends and family and asks them if they want to shake it too???  Its funny to see the looks on their face as they are trying to interpret what she is talking about shaking exactly...

I have a video of Hadley in action, dancing to her favorite song, and a couple other good pictures that I got this week that I thought were funny too.

When Hadley was just a baby I would put her in the laundry basket so that I could carry her and the basket upstairs at the same time...and now its just a hard habbit to break cause she enjoys it so much

Its finally time....

So I have finally conformed...and I am officially starting my own family blog!!! I tried the facebook thing for about a week and couldn't handle figuring out what to write on my "wall". I could never get started because I wanted what I posted to be intersting, not make me not sound dumb, be kinda funny, and not offend anyone....and I just had a hard time finding clever comments that fit that critera.... so I would just never write anything, and still to this day haven't written anything. I am hoping that I can handle the family blog a bit better because I can write more and explain myself fully, and whenever I feel like something interesting happens I can also post a picture with my story, and finally and most importantly people seriously need to see how cute and funny my daughter is. Considering that Hadley is almost 2 this blog is maybe a little overdue so I am just going to start fresh now.

I just have a hard time thinking that people would be really interested in the small details of my life. But then I enjoy reading my friends and families blogs so maybe there are some of my friends and family out there that would like to read about us too. Well for sure I would enjoy reading about Hadley because she is definitly the funniest of the 3 of us. But me and Austin also have our moments that we sure think that we are funny too so perhaps I will post those. But I am mostly excited for that next time that Hadley does something funny that I will have somewhere to archive her funny-ness. Because it is well deserving of being archived.

Here is Hadley and her dollies, she likes to put them to bed and then lay in the middle of them

Here is Hadley cheesing it in St. George a couple of weeks ago...it has been a long time since she was able to go on the swings due to the Utah weather so she was BEYOND excited to be back to doing one of her favorite things
